The Department of Geography proudly announces the successful completion of a 15-day paid internship training programme by students of the P.G. Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS. Conducted under the “Earn While You Learn” initiative, the programme involved the digitization of 78 villages in Uttar Pradesh.

The project was carried out under the expert guidance of engineers from Aeronics Consultancy, with mentorship from coordinator Prof. P.K. Singh and Dr. Ritu Jain, who provided supervision throughout the programme. Students were compensated for each map digitized, gaining valuable hands-on experience and financial reward simultaneously. This internship equipped participants with practical, real-world skills in geospatial technology — reinforcing the department’s commitment to career-oriented, experiential learning.
